Ready Targets Guidelines

This guide describe the most efficient design of the Ready targets as well as mandatory graphic elements used in the implementations of the Ready products.

Ready targets are the points of contact between your guests and their ordering/paying experiences.

We offer Ready Premium targets, featured here, as well as restaurant branded ones. To check details on different form factors and the current stock, click here.

Overview

There are four main guest interaction points on the Ready targets: the strong Call to Action, the NFC tap area, the QR code scan area, and the Ready payment block to display supported payment methods. From the business implementation standpoint, targets have required unique 6 characters reference code, as well as the branding elements: logo, colours and font.

For the biggest impact it’s suggested to keep NFC and QR codes on separate sides, although a brand can decide to keep both on the same side of the target.

We have prepared a set of templates (Adobe Illustrator files) that your design team can use to customize the target’s design for your venues.

Call to Action

Primary Call to Action (CTA) should be clearly displayed on the Ready target. Ready mandates using the CTA terminology:

  • Pay Here when only the Pay at Table functionality is implemented

  • Order & Pay Here when Ordering (via server or app) and Paying at Table solutions are implemented

NFC

NFC functionality should be displayed to the guest in the form of the mandatory “contactless” symbol. You may not alter Ready proprietary contactless symbol artwork.

Through extensive user testing, Ready highly recommends pairing the symbol with the instructional copy Tap the symbol with your NFC enabled phone.

Optionally, the instruction can be preceded with a secondary call to action e.g. View, split and pay your check.

QR codes

Ready generates a set of unique Ready branded QR code images to apply to print material.

  • The minimum required print size of the QR code graphic is 0.9 inches.

  • The QR code must always be printed on a white background.

  • A minimum clear zone of 1/8 inch is required on all sides around the QR code

  • The QR code must be printed in either black or a high contrast colour to ensure maximum performance for scanning.

  • Each QR code has the Ready symbol in the centre which must not be altered.

Through extensive user testing, Ready highly recommends pairing the QR code with the instructional copy Scan the QR code with your phone camera or from readypay.co.

Payment Block

The Ready payment block graphic, which indicates the available use of the Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Credit Card payment methods, must be displayed on the target design. The payment method icons must not be altered in any way. The surrounding border and Ready logo may be used in a light or dark version, to suit different background colours.

Reference codes

Ready provides target-unique 6 character reference code that acts as a label to identify each unique QR code graphic. The code must be printed somewhere on your graphic, with or without the label Target code, to aid in pairing NFC chips during production, as well as for mapping the targets during the implementation.

Minimum branding

In the target layouts with minimum amount of elements instead of separate payment block and reference codes, a Minimum Branding block that combines Ready logo and the Ready reference code can be used. Ready logo, the divider line, and the reference code are solid white or black (depending on the tone of the background) at 50% opacity.

Other form factors

Depending on a context or use case, the Ready targets can come in additional form factors, like table or window decals, standard restaurant table flags, or parking signage for virtual drive-throughs.

Branding

Beside above described mandatory elements, Ready enables restaurant brands to apply their branding elements: the brand logo, brand colours and the brand type set when the brand specific targets are designed.
